The 9 hp Wolseley was introduced for the new 1934 year of models, following the usual lines of the saloon style of car. It may be likened to a scaled-down version of the four door "Hornet" with a small built in boot. It featured pneumatic cushions in the leather seats, a sliding sunshine roof, concealed spare wheel and built in luggage rack.
For the 1935 model range the Nine was fitted with a pre-selective self-changing gearbox, instead of the manual type of the previous year.
The 29th April 1935 saw the Nine superseded by the considerably improved 10 hp Wasp of what was later to become known as the 'Series' models.
