The 4th April 1936 saw the introduction of a new 12 hp model available as both Saloon and Coupe.  The Wolseley 12/48 is a larger version of the 10/40 with a greater length, and more streamlined boot at the rear of the car.

Approximately 6,400 were produced during the short life of the Series II.  Unlike the Morris equivalent, the Wolseley 12/48 featured overhead valve engine and four-speed gearbox, along with 'Easiclean' steel-pressed wheels.

As with other Series II cars, the simple distinction between the later Series III 12/48 introduced on 14th October 1937 are that of the the bonnet louvres, their being four horizontal along each side for the Series II.
